Today’s battle is between the hyped Etude House Face Blur and the Peripera Blur Pang in Peach Milk Blur. Both products are actually primers and although they seem to be quite similar, they are actually quite different.

Let’s take a look at the individual products first:

Peripera Blur Pang Peach Milk Blur

The Peach Milk Blur is actually one of the three blur pang primers that Peripera actually has. Peripera claims that the blur pangs will actually create that airbrushed finish, “as if all your flaws have been blurred away”. It is supposed to conceal imperfections and pores for a visibly softer and more youthful looking skin. Apart from being a primer, it also acts as a moisturizer and sunscreen with SPF30/PA++.

The peach blur pang is supposed to help with color correction and even out the skin tone. It is also meant to give the skin a radiant finish.

Etude House Face Blur

The etude house Face Blur is a primer in the form of a lightweight cream, where it claims to reduce the visibility of pores, brighten the skin and improve the skin texture. From this description, it is actually quite similar to the Peripera Blur Pang.

The Face Blur does have a SPF33/PA++, so a minuscule difference is that the Face Blur may have better sun protection. It apparently has Baby Pixel, which is blur powder, which makes the skin smooth and covers pores, as well as Cover powder, which supposedly hides imperfections. In terms of popularity, I always see the Etude House Face Blur as a popular primer option.

Comparison

Price.

As for price, I will be using Amazon.com to compare the prices so that it would be easier for everyone to compare. The Blur pang costs USD$7.00 with free shipping and the cheapest version of the Face Blur was USD$13.88.

Packaging.

The Blur Pang comes in a squeeze tube bottle, while the Face Blur comes in a pump bottle design. The Blur Pang is 50ml and 1.7 ounces, while the Face Blur is 1.23 ounce, which is roughly 36ml in a bottle. So not only is the Blur Pang cheaper, it has more product. However, I would say that I prefer having a pump bottle design as the blur pang actually made a mess in my bag because it got squeezed by my other stuff inside.

Scent.

The Blur Pang had a strong yet lovely peach scent because apparently, it does have 14.000ppm of peach juice in it. To be honest, I actually bought this also because I am obsessed with peach scents and this was super satisfying. The Etude House Face Blur does not have an overwhelming scent to it and it does remind me a bit of the scent of sunscreen, but very subtle.

Color.

In terms of color, there was actually a noticeable difference. The Blur Pang was more pastel pink, while the Face Blur was closer to a peach tone.

After blending the product, both products actually didn’t show much of a difference. I did take a shot with flash just to see the difference and as you can see the Blur Pang is actually more obvious.

Both products took some time to finally settle, like where it didn’t have that feeling that it was there, but the Peripera Blur Pang was faster. Both products do not leave a sticky feeling once they have fully settled on the skin.

It does appear bit ghostly on the Peripera side because it has that white cast to it. As for making my pores less visible, I would say that the Face Blur did a better job.

Overall Summar

Although I understand the hype about the Etude House Face Blur, I feel like the Peripera Blur Pang is quite underrated. The effects were very similar when I did this comparison. The difference was only visible when there was flash photography, so I would recommend not to use the blur pang as a primer if you’re having a night out, as most people use flash photography at night.But I would recommend it as a day primer. But, if you’re not a fan of scents, the Blur Pang may not be for you.

Apart from that, in terms of price and amount, Peripera does win. Also, I am a bit confused as normally products with higher SPF tend to give white cast but in this case it was opposite. I guess it’s because of the color of the product itself like I said the blur pang was more of a pastel pink color.
